We arrive from Ireland 7:35am on a Sunday and need to get quickly to a hotel on the West End for a possible 8:30 meeting. What is the fastest transportation?

taxi would take 15-20 minutes at that time on a sunday, Airlink 100 bus would take 20-25 minutes and stops at the west End, tram about the same amount of time but stops a bit short of the west end, just depends on where in the west end your Hotel is.

Hilton Grosvenor. I heard there is a marathon in Edinburgh on May 28th? Would that effect travel from the airport?

both the tram and bus stop at Haymarket and it is about a 200 yard walk to the hotel.I think a taxi may be your best bet, never used Uber in the city and not sure of what arrangements are there for them picking up at the airport .

Marathon should make no difference , the start is on the other side of the city and finishes in Musselburgh quite a distance from the city centre.Edinburgh marathon is a real misnomer as most of it is run in east Lothain, it only starts in Edinburgh and the first few miles are run in the city.
