what is the best way to travel to Ulg on Isle of Skye from Fort William without a car? what i saw so far is that to get to the ferry is a tight schedule and only in the evening. And the bus via the Skye bridge is tricky. we will be departing from Fort William on August 19th, 2024. Thanks
Use Scottish Citylink. Their through buses Fort William to Uig are timed to connect with the ferry. Summer times are not out for a while yet, but that is the way to do it.
Bar some tweaking to suit the ferry summer timetable you can expect this to be the timetable for August- https://www.citylink.co.uk/media/kg2lq3kl/glasgow-uig-v2-web.pdf
It is an official connection.
I don't know if it is still so after the harbour rebuild, but on Citylink you check in at Uig Office, then reboard the bus to take you down the ramp/linkspan to the ship. Likewise on arrival you walk off the ship straight onto the bus waiting at the bottom of the ramp/linkspan.
Citylink bus from Fort William direct to the ferry terminal at Uig as isn31c says. Should be seamless!
