We will be taking a ferry from the Isle of Islay to Kennacraig in the evening at the end of May and need to find a place to stay over night before we travel the next day to Edinburgh.
Suggestions on what town or place we should stay?
Does anyone have advice for what to stop and see on the drive?

I stayed at Tarbert at Stonefield Castle which I enjoyed. If you don't want to pop for the castle experience, Inveraray is a great option. It is a nice small town, there is the castle which is very interesting.

Thanks I was looking at Stonefield. It is a bit pricy but I think we may stay there. Do you have any suggestions on what to do on the drive back to Edinburgh?

Stop off at Inveraray Castle. It's a great tour and an interesting castle.
