Travel around Stirling Scotland: Do hop on hop off tours still run there?

Hello,

Traveling to Scotland in June with family. We hope to take a short midday trip to Stirling on our way to Inverness (taking the train from Edinburgh>Stirling>Inverness) and wanted to see Stirling Castle, the Wallace Monument, and the Stirling Jail. Are there any other travel around options other than taking taxi/cabs or a massively expensive coach trip? Stirling tourism had hop on hop off in 2022, but it seems their website is defunct. Any ideas. Thanks.

It looks, from this website, as if the HoHo bus only runs from July to mid September-

The Castle and Jail are both within walking distance of the Station.

The Wallace Monument says that First Bus Services 52 and UL from the station stop there. 52 is hourly but UL every 15 minutes, so use that one.

That information is out of date as First Bus have now pulled out of the area and services taken over by McGills Scotland East, trading as Midland Bluebird.
Here is their website. Sorry I can't trace PDF timetables- just as a web page.

I'm a bit concerned about you doing this on a day when I assume you will have luggage as Stirling station has no left luggage to the best of my knowledge.

If my memory serves me correctly , the walk to the castle is quite an uphill climb all the way . using a taxi for that , would be the best choice

Definitely uphill to the castle and jail, but not a terrible walk. We walked past the jail to Holy Rude church and graveyard from our B&B, but drove to the castle since one of our party had mobility issues.

Noting a previous comment (which looks like it's now deleted), I see from another thread on this Scotland forum that there is a service called Stasher that luggage storage for a fee at the Premier Inn near the train station in Stirling.

Re the previous comment this is the link for Stasher, although when you click through it does say 'unavailable'.

If you look at Visit Stirling it suggests the Willy Wallace Hostel at 77 Murray Place (but check beforehand that is correct)

At least that is just across the road from the railway station, so handy for you- see google maps-
