Hello everyone, I was trying to find out how easy it is to get to and from Edinburgh airport to the city and about how long it takes. Also, about how much is the cost. Thank you very much.
Raymond,
I will be going to Edinburgh next month & will be taking the Airlink Bus from the airport to the city:

The journey will take about 25 minutes from the airport to Waverley station.
Taxi costs £25- £30 from the airport to the city center.
You may also consider contacting your hotel for more detailed information, as to the best way to get there.
The Airlink is a great service and I use it whenever I head to the airport. It runs 24/7 though the number of buses per hour varies. The tram runs there too but let us know where you are staying and we can recommend what is best.
Thank you, this has been very helpful.
Here's info on the tram service that goes from Edinburgh to the airport.
I'll be there in about 10 days. And since the tram stops outside my hotel, I'll take it over the bus.
Tram is always a good option especially if it stops outside your hotel, it is a bit further to walk to the tram stop from the terminal but only about 200 yards.
The way the buses and tram stops work out I usually take the bus into town and then change to the airlink bus service to the airport and on the return journey take the tram to Princes street and transfer quite easily to a bus to get me home. having a Free Bus Pass that covers me for both Tram and buses it is a nice easy and cheap option for me.
We are staying near Waverly Station. About 10 minutes from there walking, or at least that's how far it looks from the map.
The bus drops you off right at Waverley.

We had planned to take a taxi from the airport to our B&B on Minto Street when we arrive in Edinburgh this coming Sunday morning. Would the tram or airlink bus get us close to our B&B? How much cheaper are these two than a taxi? (Sorry to hijack the post)
You could take the bus to Waverley and then catch a cab the balance of the way. If you've just done a transatlantic flight, I would do the taxi. Otherwise I would take the bus and then cab or bus it the rest of the way. Have you played with route planners such as viamichelin?
Minto street is a good mile or more from where the airport bus or the tram ends , so I would take the Airport bus to Waverley and then a Taxi to Minto street, there are usually taxis right across from the airport bus stop.
Thanks for the info. We will be coming from an overnight transatlantic flight, so I think we'll just stick with a taxi. Less hassle!
can't disagree with that, won't be that much more by the time you pay for tram or bus tickets from the airport and a taxi from Waverley and certainly should be a good bit quicker.
