We're flying into Edinburgh airport and was curious what are our best options for getting to our hotel in central Edinburgh? Costs? We are a family of four, two kids (10,6).
my wife and I rode the tram into the city to the last stop, was easy to hop on and staff was very helpful, bought ticket at airport just before you get on the tram. Was less than $10. http://edinburghtrams.com/ There is an airlink bus that runs all the time and that would be your cheapest option. We rode a cab one way from east Edinburgh to the airport and it was $35. Obviously that's your least stressful option. with a family of 4 best option is a taxi cost around £20-£25, using the Airport bus or the trams will not be that much cheaper and you will be able to go door to door
If the hotel is within a distance you are happy to walk, I'd say take the tram for the difference. But as the others have said a taxi will be door to door.
Thank you for your replies! I think we're going to go the taxi route--just keeping it simple :)
