Mike , If you've not seen this , its right up your alley . The whole trip is great fun , and a section is about Flying Scotsman -https://youtu.be/mYi1qLUAJJI
Oh, how neat! I wish I were there to see it! I love trains - especially famous ones!
Hi, Steven,
Thanks for posting that video! I hadn't seen it in a few years. I have to admit fast forwarding to Inverness.
What a treat seeing the old Kyle ferry! I hadn't sailed on it since the early 1980s. Now there's the bridge and the Mallaig ferry. And the Glenelg ferry, of course!
I took the Kyle line last summer from Inverness. However, only as far as Plockton. Mrs. A treated me to a round trip on the train, so that I could enjoy a day without driving. Money (hers!) well spent. We had a great day out, including a sail with Calum's Seal Trips.
The railroad cars have come a long way since 1980!
Thanks again, Steven!

After last weekend's accident at Aviemore the Flying Scotsman has now been cleared to resume service with a series of planned steam tours around Scotland in the next few weeks.
Two cars of the Royal Scotsman luxury train, involved in the accident, have been removed from Aviemore by road for inspection.
