Hello,
My son and I are visiting England and Scotland and we'll be taking the train up to Edinburgh. It looks like I can get a great priced ticket on Northern trains but I see they are striking a couple days in Sept. We are traveling the middle of October. Should I be concerned?
Thank you
Also this train goes through Carlisle rather than York like some of the others - good idea?
Thank you. You can tell I'm a little anxious about this
It will be a slower service than the east coast line but as compensation it's England's most scenic route.
If there's a strike generally you can use other operators services to complete your journey
A strike in September (if it goes ahead) won’t impact you in October. Northern Rail trains have suffered from cancellations due to other reasons recently. Book your train as normal but pay attention to any status updates on the journey planner.
