Train from Edinburgh to London

Good Day All.

We've rebooked our RS Tour of Scotland next October and after hope to take a train from Edinburgh to London for a few days before flying home. Do you have any advice or experiences? I'm guessing we best book this in advance? Do you recommend a specific train or have any warnings?

Thanks so much!

I think there is only one train company servicing that route. We did it a few years ago. A nice ride. Very scenic. We bought tickets well in advance so the tickets were very reasonable.

Sit on the left side going south for the best views.

Look for Advance tickets from either of the two companies mentioned earlier. LNER also do first class if you want to spend the money,

Thanks for the helpful comments and links. Here's what I've learned so far about both rail services, LNER (London North Eastern Railway) and LUMO. Both have detailed websites, neither is selling tickets yet for October. LNER has a feature that can alert you when the tickets are available - that's cool! Both run from Edinburgh to London-King's Cross Station.

I'll endeavor to reserve seats on the left side going south - as suggested! :)
