We are staying in Edinburgh for 8 days but need to get our flight home out of Glasgow. Best way to get to airport in Glasgow, flight out is 11 am. Does anyone have some info on this?

There is no train to Glasgow Int'l Airport. Yet. There might be mid century, but probably not according to your schedule.
The train to the airport stops at Paisley Gilmore Street, then a bus.
The best thing is if you can is stay near Glasgow Airport in one of the hotels there, or pay for a taxi. Paisley Gilmore Street is a commuter station and is exactly what you would expect of such.

In the past I've taken the train from Edinburgh to Glasgow city centre and caught the airport bus from the train station to the airport. It is usually pretty straight forward, but there is some construction going on, but from what MC has to say it sounds like you can deal with it. See the third bullet about getting to the airport. By taking the bus from Queens Street Station you have one less transfer. Otherwise you need to change trains in Glasgow to get to Paisley and then catch the bus. Someone else will chime in, but I don't think it's more than half an hour (and sometimes less) to get to the airport from Queens Street Railway Station.
