Booking a direct service train on LNER from London's King Cross to Edinburgh for the beginning of May. We prefer to ride first class, and I am wondering if this is a good fare, or if I should wait longer to buy tickets.

If it's an Advance ticket then the price will not go down. And once the tickets priced at £65 sell-out the price will increase.
Train prices never go down, they only ever go up as you get nearer the departure date.
So buy as soon as the tickets are available and you are prepared to commit to a date and time. Do not wait, it will just cost you more.
