Tour companies in Fort William

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has used any tour companies in Fort William for day tours. I found Scotland Scenic Tours and Tartan Tours and a few others online but a recommendation would be great.

Either private or group DAY tours.

Addition to my post. One of the companies called Wow was of interest to me but it appears they meet a car park in Invermoristan (near Inverness). I'm not renting a car and the gyrations to get to this meeting place are far beyond what I want to do. I want to be picked up in Fort William. I envision taking the train from Glasgow, staying a few days in Fort William, taking a few day tours, and doing some walking on my own.

Skye sounds interesting as a day trip but I'm not sure about the ferry crossing as I do get very seasick.

Otherwise, a tour that gives me a general overview of the beauty of the region is of interest. Castles, glens, etc. Not that excited about Loch Ness so I could skip that.

Daisy, you could self tour taking the train to Mallaig roundtrip. A very scenic journey. The train stops in Glenfinnan in both directions where you could get off to see the Viaduct (which you will also be traveling over), the Glenfinnan Monument and maybe take a boat trip on beautiful Loch Shiel.

I have been in contact with Scotland Scenic Tours and they are polite, friendly, and responsive. I've done a lot of research of that area. And have likely annoyed many on the forum with my questions! But, if I weren't traveling with my almost 90 mother, I feel like it is a place that I could explore on my own. What we are doing on our own is the train to Mallaig, spend an hour or so, bus to Glenfinnan, see museum and other sites and bus back to Fort William. From Fort Williams, we will be doing some kind of transportation to Oban with a long stop in Glencoe.

The idea of just having a train ride to Glenfinnan on the normal Scotrail trains, and then walking around to see the Harry Potter fans trying to take photos and then down to the memorial is a good one, at least on a dry day. The station is tiny but has a display about the history of the line, and more importantly a restored old railway dining car with a very good reputation for lunch!! Nice day, plenty of scenery and views, some history and home made food - no need to go all the way to Mallaig. https://glenfinnanstationmuseum.co.uk/facilities/dining-car/ There is also the alternative of paying much more to use the steam train to Mallaig but unless you are interested in steam trains I wouldn't bother.

As for Skye, I noted that WOW tours want £99 for the day trip but their recommended taxi connection for Fort William could be another £200!!! If you just went for a bus ride to Portree on Skye (via the bridge!), had 90 minute to wander around the town to find coffee and possibly a light lunch and then caught the return bus, you would get the scenery of the ride but not the tour of Skye. And the fare this summer would be £2 (yes, two) each way.... Leave Fort William around 10:00 get back around 17:45 https://www.citylink.co.uk/

The advice given by Wow Tours about joining at Invermoriston is bizarre, because it has never been true-

Joining by public transport is possible during summer (June – Sept), with a reliable service being provided by Citylink from Fort William to Invermoriston, and back.

In fact the service is and always has been year round. The Citylink service is every 2 hours in winter, hourly in summer, but Ember Bus also operate the route hourly, year round. So in summer there are two buses an hour between Fort William and Invermoriston.
