Tobermory/Isle of Mull Accommodations

Husband and I have decided to include 2-3 days on the Isle of Mull. We will be bringing our rental car with us in the ferry across. Can you recommend an Inn/Hotel or B&B in the village of Tobermory?

Hi, dacil31,

My wife and I stayed at the Park Lodge a couple of years ago. It's on a hill overlooking the town. The rooms are small, but adequate, and the price is decent for Tobermory in summer. The car park is small, but they may have expanded it by now. It's an easy walk down to the harbour, but it's uphill on the way back. Breakfast is included, though our service was slow. It was high summer. We went for the standard double - they also have a superior double, although I don't know what that entails.

You should be able to check availability on their website, rather than going through a third party agency.

We also stayed at the Caol-Ithe in Fionnphort, and really enjoyed it. It was one of the nicest B&Bs we've stayed in over many visits to Scotland.

Are you taking the Oban to Craignure ferry, or the Kilchoan to Tobermory ferry? The latter is really fun, as you sail directly in to Tobermory Harbour.

Happy travels,

Mike (auchterless)

p.s.: Be sure to get fish & chips or scallops from the van at the harbour. Highly recommended!

Mike thanks for the tips.

We will be in Oban for 2 nights and then heading to Mull, so I from what I gather the Oban to Craignure ferry makes the most sense. We like the idea of Tobermory because of the village, but also open for other villages to stay in on Mull for our 2 nights. We plan on proceeding north through Glencoe when we return to the mainland.

You might want to consider Glengorm Castle, on a headland a few kilometres out from Tobermory.

Stayed there a few years back now but well worth it.
