tipping of tour guide

Taking a 2 day tour in the highlands. Should I tip the tour guide in addition to the cost of the tour? If so how much?

That is a subject with lots of discussion. The tipping expectation in Europe is not as high as in the US but we still tip. A great guide, I would probably go 10% and a little less for the bus driver.

if it is a private tour I might tip at 10% but probably would not tip at all .On a larger tour like a 30-50 people bus tour I would tip a few £ for driver and guide.

I know it is a common question from Americans but really do not sweat about tipping in the UK and Europe, we will not chase you down the street if you don't tip.whilst tipping folk a £1 or two here and there it really is not necessary it is appreciated, all our service staff get paid at least the minimum wage and soon to get what is now called the "living Wage" which is £7.20/hour. I very seldom tip . I am not cheap it is just the way it is.Please don't leave money on tables or bars , just not done,if you want to tip service then hand it to the server or the person providing the service.
