Thoughts on Self-Guided Tours of Scotland?

Hi all,
My husband and I are planning a somewhat last-minute trip to Scotland and are wondering about self-guided tours that book hotels, etc. for you. I would love to hear from other folks who have used one of these planning services. Was it worth it? It sounds like a less stressful way to plan but I also don't want to pay exorbitant fees.
Thanks!
Lisa

No, I haven't used such services.

I wouldn't give a third party control over where I go or stay, especially in an English-speaking country (well, sorta) like Scotland. Yes, trip planning can be a pain, but it pays off.

Just my 2¢.

We highly recommend Kathi & her site https://watchmesee.com/. It's all about Scotland.

In May/June of 2022 we travel around Scotland for 6 weeks. Return for a 2 week portion of a long trip to England & Wales in 2023 and we're returning again in September of 2025 for a 2 week stay.

In each of these trips we used Kathi's services and have been very pleased. For the 2022 trip we had all of our accommodations in place before engaging Kathi to fine tune our journey. She so enhanced our journey by letting us know of hikes, scenic drives & special places to eat along the way. For our 2023 & upcoming 2025 trips we purchased some on her prepackaged itineraries. Great value.

Explore her site and you'll learn so much about Scotland.
