The Waverley Paddle Steamer in the Inner Hebrides- Skye, Mull and elswhere

The Paddle Steamer 'Waverley' has now published her timetable for this Spring in the Inner Hebrides, from 19 to 27 May-
https://waverleyexcursions.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Oban-Inner-Hebrides-2025-Timetable.pdf

As well as the usual sailings from Oban to Armadale and Armadale to Kyle of Lochalsh, also Oban around Staffa and Iona, and Kyle to Raasay and Portree there is also an Oban to Tiree, a Portree to Ullapool and Gairloch (very rare sailing) and two new visits-
Oban to Salen (Isle of Mull), Tobermory, Ardnamurchan lighthouse then round the Isle of Muck; and Kyle of Lochalsh/Armadale to Carbost (Isle of Skye) for the Talisker distillery.

Neither Salen or Carbost have been served by passenger ships in many years. Salen Pier even has two self catering properties- the only holiday accommodation on any UK pier.

So for anyone in the area some unusual day trips.

Some sailings have chartered bus connections from Glasgow and even Edinburgh

Hi, Stuart,

Based on that schedule, it looks as though she's no longer going "Doon the Watter"!

Some of those voyages look absolutely stunning!

Thanks for sharing.

Mike,

She's doon the watter [the River Clyde] from 16th May – Sunday 18th May, 27th June – Monday 25th August and Saturday 18th & Sunday 19th October.

Early and late season sailings are here- https://waverleyexcursions.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Glasgow-Clyde-Coast-Spring-Autumn-2025-Timetable.pdf

We even have Arrochar (Ardnagal) calls again- the old Arrochar steamer pier being beyond repair.

late May and most of June is North Wales and Liverpool then the Bristol Channel

late August, September and early October is Devon, Cornwall, the Jurassic Coast, Isle of Wight, Southern England then a two week River Thames season before the long journey back north.

Most of the National Timetable is yet to be released. Summer sailings should include the Isle of Arran if berth space is still available at Brodick and Lochranza, on the new intensive CalMac timetables.

We had a teaser about Salen and Carbost weeks ago, but I couldn't identify either from the photographs given.
