Taxi/ride options in Speyside

My wife and I will be staying in Dufftown, within the Speyside region, arriving by rental car late in the day Sept 11 and leaving the morning of Sept 14. Of course we'd like to tour a couple distilleries; the rest of the time we'll be doing general sightseeing. We'd like to sample the whiskies in the distilleries' tasting rooms (as opposed to taking sample bottles back to the B&B), so driving to them is out of the question. In planning, we've seen some mention that Uber doesn't operate in Speyside and taxis are somewhat spotty. Is that actually the case? If so, what are our options? We've looked into a few tour companies but the prices we've seen are expensive, with entry fees to distilleries not included.

Thanks!

There is a year round hourly bus service #36 from Dufftown to Elgin via various of the distilleries, supplemented by a seasonal April to October #36A every two hours or so from Dufftown to Aviemore via Grantown on Spey.

Do you have specific distilleries in mind?

In Dufftown you can walk to Balvenie and Glenfiddich Distilleries.

The bus that Stuart mentions will take you to Craigellachie in under 10 minutes. From the bus stop you would be about a 10 minute walk to the Speyside Cooperage for an interesting tour on barrel making. They also offer whiskey tasting after the tour.

You could combine the Cooperage with nearby Aberlour Distillery on the same bus route. There are more options if you would like to travel further by bus.
