Has anyone taken the ferry/boat from Newcastle Upon Tyne to France? Seems it would be easier than going all the way back to London to get across to Europe if you aren't flying there.
I hope you don’t think there’s a ferry from Newcastle to France. The only ferry from Newcastle goes to IJmuiden, near Amsterdam. From there you would need to take buses/trains to France.
Unless you are taking your own car to the continent, from Newcastle the best way to France is to fly. From Newcastle there are regular flights to Paris and Nice (seasonal).
Since this is in the Scotland Forum I'll guess that you are actually trying to get from Edinburgh or Glasgow to France? You could go from there and not go all the way to Tyneside.
Thanks all for the reply. I will check on flights out of Newcastle or just take the ferry to Amsterdam and head south.
Teesside???
