Suggestions for 2 days itinerary from Skye to Edinburgh

Working backwards from your 5pm flight to London. You need to be at the airport by say 3.30pm, so probably don't want to be that far away the night before, as you really only have a morning to sightsee. How about your final night (24th) in Stirling giving you the morning of 25th to see Stirling Castle?

If you spent the night of 23rd in Inverness you would certainly have time to get there via the 'scenic route'! You could leave Skye via the bridge (A87) but the head north towards Ullapool, before diverting via Lochcarron to drive over the incredible Bealach na Ba (Pass of the Cattle) to Applecross, then the winding coast road to Ullapool for a later lunch, before heading to Inverness for the evening. From there it would be an easy drive down the A9 to Stirling, maybe stopping at House of Bruar which is a posh shop often called the Harrods of the North, but with a decent cafe, an excellent fish and chip shop (separate from the cafe) and some lovely water falls and a short hiking trail out the back of the store. You could also call into Pitlochry or Dunkeld, which are pretty towns, or visit the distillery at Dalwhinnie.

Thanks for the suggestions which means i'll stay 1 night at Inverness and the last night at Stirling.

And the 1 day driving route suggested from Skye to Inverness covering Lochcarron, Bealach na ba, Applecross , Ullapool and ending at Inverness is doable. Glad to hear that.
