Struggling to find a previous post

Not really sure where this post belongs.

I, like many others, find it so hard to do searches of the forum, even for my own posts. Maybe there is something I'm missing? At least a year ago, I posted looking for some input for a possible tour of Scotland for my mother and I. I got some great responses, but she was having some mobility issues so I abandoned the idea. Now, Its seeming like she'd be able to handle a trip with some accommodations. I've thought of a cruise but, I feel like they don't really cover Scotland all that well, and I feel like a person would miss a lot to not be eating at local restaurants and staying in hotels. I sure would like to find my post. I feel like it would be the only post I've ever done in the Scotland category.

Maybe I shouldn't post so much! Short of going through page by page of my posts, is it not possible to get a listing of all MY posts, only? If I had even the vaguest idea of when I would have made my post, that would help, but I don't.

Travel forum>My Account>Travel History. You’ll find everything you posted. But also any comments made on other chats. It helps if you can generally remember when you posted it. It’s not perfect because it doesn’t sort and you have to scroll through.

Also when you click view All is shows who the Op is and maybe your own name pops out quicker to the eye.

Agree it’s not easy to find old posts.

@KD, thanks, yes, I do have that piece. And you're right, it would help to know time frame

@CL, YES! Thanks. I guess what I was missing was to put my name in " "

Jules, if you want to get even more specific, first do a site search. It's similar to what CL posted above, but there is a colon between the word "site" and "http"with no spaces on either side so basically, it looks like this: site:https://community.ricksteves.com/travel-forum "jules m"

That will limit your results to the Rick Steves Forum without giving you any other options. It will also show a ton of posts that have your name in it.

If you want to limit it even more, once you have input the terms and gotten your results, go up to the top and click on the word "Tools" and choose the option that says "Advanced Search." That will open up a huge range of filters so you can narrow it down even more.

Mardee caught my cut/paste error! There was a colon after site when I did the search in Google :)
