Due to the arrival of Storm Amy the following rail routes will close at 6pm on Friday 3 October-
Crianlarich to Fort William and Mallaig
Inverness to Aberdeen
Inverness to Wick and Thurso
Inverness to Kyle of Lochalsh
Inverness to Perth
No alternative arrangements will be made such as taxis, buses or hotels.
On all other routes in Scotland speed limits will be in force. This will also lead to delays on Avanti, LNER and Lumo.
The Highland Caledonian Sleeper is cancelled in both directions on Friday night, the Lowland Sleeper should run but will be delayed by at least one hour.
The routes will be re-opened on Saturday or later after damage has been assessed.
Tickets will be accepted for travel on Saturday and Sunday (and later if routes remain closed).
