Stagecoach service from Edinburgh Airport

EDIT
Turns out using Stagecoach for the whole trip from EDI to my hotel in Anstruther was easy, comfortable and inexpensive. No need to reserve--get on the bus and pay. A change at St. Andrews and the bus stop in Anstruther was a block away from my hotel. They seem to have a variety of coaches, but all have a luggage hold underneath.

After I land in EDI next week, I plan to take the 787 to the bus station in St. Andrews, and take a taxi or Uber from there to my lodging in Anstruther.

Is there a reason to buy the ticket now, or is buying it on the bus ok?
Are they often full?
Is Uber a possibility in St. andrews?

You can buy the Stagecoach East Scotland day rider ticket on the bus- £12.20.
Cash, card or any form of contactless.
Having it on the App gives no priority boarding. The service is so new I doubt anyone knows load factors. But Stagecoach are doubtless monitoring and have the resources to provide duplicate vehicles. If it's anything like the rest of the Fife express network I've only once seen a bus almost full.

That is cheaper than a £20 single.

If you had the stamina the day rider would get you as far North as Aberdeen airport.

I have no idea about Uber.

Uber is sometimes available in St. Andrews but don't rely on it.

However, you can get the x60 bus at St. Andrews that will take you to Anstruther. It takes about 20 minutes.

Liz, you won't find any rideshare options in St. Andrew's, but there will be taxis. There is St. Andrew Taxis - https://standrewstaxis.com

You might see if Bolt is available there (app for cabs). I know they have Bolt and Gett in Edinburgh but not sure about St. Andrews. /

Thank you!
I appreciate knowing what the choices are and will decide later.

Or you can take the 747 to Ferrytoll Park & Ride and change there to the X60 to Anstruther. I see no need for the detour via St Andrews.
