I am considering the eight day trip to Scotland next summer. I am a huge golf fan and really want to see St. Andrews.
I will not be playing the course, but does anyone know if it's possible to get into the pro shop if you aren't playing? I'm gonna need
St. Andrews merchandise for sure!

I don't have an answer regarding the pro shops, but there are shops all over St. Andrews in all price ranges for golf and St. Andrews merchandise.
On Sundays you can walk the Old Course and take selfies at the stone bridge.
You can also play a few holes at the Himalayas.
Back in 2014 I went up to St Andrews and definitely went into the shop and bought merch for my dad. I would be shocked if you couldn't do that now especially with The Open coming up in 2027.
You could when we were there in 2023! If you go on a Sunday, you can walk on the Old Course, which was actually a lot of fun, and get a picture of yourself on the Swilcan Bridge. On our day, you would take a picture of the people ahead of you, and the person waiting behind you would take a picture of your group. Very civilized.

Yes it’s possible, we were in St. Andrew’s in May and went into the pro shop for some shirts and a scorecard. There are also a ton of shops in the village selling logo merchandise but my husband wanted it from the actual pro shop.
agree with comments above...the Rabbi Tour was great for getting to St.Andrews and more!
Be sure to load up your credit card...merchandise in and around St. Andrews is a bit expensive.
There's a great museum there also regarding golf...a "must-do" for a "huge golf fan".
I was surprised there is more to do there than just golf...ENJOY!

Because the courses managed by the St Andrews Links Trust sit on public land, all of their club houses, restaurants and official retail shops are fully open to the general public, non-golfers and tourists..

As the tours are nearly all Sunday to Sunday and St. Andrews is on Day 5, you won't be able to walk the old course, as others have suggested, unless you book the Sept. 1 tour, which appears to hit St. Andrews on Sunday.
You can visit the pro shop. You might also consider playing “The Himalayas” from the Ladies Putting Club. It’s an 18 hole putting green and a fun twist on mini golf. Right next to the Old Course. No reservations were required when we visited and worth doing when you’re at St Andrews.
Was just in St. Andrews.. as mentioned plenty of golf clothing items and hats etc around town.
There were 2027 Open t-shirts/souvenirs already available
Don’t miss playing the Himalayas putting course. It is a blast and a bargain.
