I have one day/night to stay in the area in late April, but am not sure which town I should book accommodations. I would like to book a private day tour to visit 3 or 4 distilleries and then spend the evening someplace with a couple of good pubs and a good place to eat. All input appreciated.

Another vote for Grantown. We had an excellent dinner at the Garth Hotel. Is Pitlochry too far away for visiting distilleries? If not, I highly recommend Knockendarroch House Hotel which does "manor house with excellent restaurant" perfectly without being stuffy or pretentious. (Visits are recent - June, 2022)
