Short hikes in or around Torridon

Will be driving from Kyle of Lochalsh to Inverness via Plockton, Shieldaig and Torridon. I've given ourselves the entire day just to enjoy the drive and explore.

Specifically, I'm interested in suggestions for short hikes near Torridon and taking in some of the vistas there. I've read about a couple trails around the Torridon Hotel. Any favorite short hikes folks love in this area that might be good for an hour or two?
Thanks!

Yes, I do know this web site!! It's great, thank you. It's helped me narrow down hiking options for our days in Glencoe. Just wondered if anyone on the forum had a 'favorite' or two. :)

Thank you!

Hi Rebecca, are you planning on driving over the spectacular Bealach Na Ba to Applecross? The drive and views from Applecross around to Shieldaig impressed us greatly. I was forever out of the van either taking photos or just staring at the views.

In Torridon I just went wandering so not much help really.
In my wanders I did find an amphitheatre that served as a church. Also found the remains of a village behind the current village. I had picked up a brochure about that in the community centre which explained what was what.

A bit further on we did a lovely hike on the pony trail toward Bienn Eighe. This started from the Kinlochewe visitor centre.

A year ago we spent 6 weeks in Scotland. One of our 3 night stays was at the beautiful Shieldiag Lodge (highly recommend). There is a hike from the lodge to the wreckage of a WWII bomber crash site. We didn't make it all the way as the heavy rain & mud forced us to turn back. If interested here a link to more information.https://www.northcoast500.com/see-do/hidden-gems/wwii-american-bomber-wreckage/ We found most lodging accomadations are most helpful in suggesting nearby hikes. They know the area best.

Tintaldra, the Bealach Na Ba looks amazing, but since my husband gets carsick I wasn't sure if this would be a good idea. However, if he's driving and we take time for stops, it might be ok.

And JimmyB, I've heard such lovely things about Shieldaig Lodge, thank you!
