Thanks for the info. Fortunately for us we're on a bus tour to Hadrian's Wall that day and I made dinner reservations upon our return.
Well, I'm glad I got to visit when I was there - such a gorgeous cathedral! And I still think about John Knox's body laying under parking spot #22 in the car park.
Big Mike- if you are going with Rabbies it may be worth checking with them about your departure point as my information is that Edinburgh Bus Station is closed from 9am to 5pm due to city centre road closures. That info is from Borders Buses- Citylink (the main user of the station) are saying nothing at the moment.
Borders Buses are turning round at Chambers Street, outside the Museum of Scotland- which is nowhere near the Bus Station.
isn31c, thank you for the heads up.
edit: Rabbies just emailed and said the bus station was going to be open.
The service will be broadcast live on BBC1 from 1.30pm BST.
A brand new sword- the Elizabeth Sword- has been made for the King as the existing 16th century one in the Honours of Scotland (the Scottish Crown Jewels) is now too fragile to handle.

Thanks for flagging this up - it will make a change from watching Wimbledon...

For anyone who missed it, this was a really lovely service, and worth finding on the BBC i-player.
Gorgeous music, a feeling of Scottish intimacy and history.

I'll be sure to pass on your regards to him when I go there next month 😏
