Edited/Resolution: I decided to send my extra luggage to my last hotel. Route London to Helsinki . I can check 2 bags on my return trip so I will have my gifts and woolly souvenirs with me at US customs.
After spending 12 days in Shetland my plan is to send yarn for gifts and personal use home as I will be headed to the Baltics for 3 weeks. My question is centered on tariffs since the removal of the $800 travel duty exemption . Has anyone done this? How were the tariffs collected as I will not be at home when the packages arrive. Did you use the Royal Mail or DHL or a private luggage transfer service? Any recommendations would be appreciated.
Yes, yarn doesn’t weigh much but it takes up a lot of space ….
