We are heading to Edinburgh for 3 nights and want to do a whisky tasting. Has anyone ever taking this tour/tasting? Are there others that may be more enjoyable? TIA for any feedback!
Along the Royal Mile in Edinburgh is a whisky tasting site. It provide a wide range of samples of local whisky. Don't remember the fee structure but we spent a couple of pleasant hours listen to a good guide and samples.
PS. Cat VH in the next posting id the place I was trying to remember. It was not crowded when we were there in early May.
I highly recommend the Scotch Malt Whiskey Society, they have a few locations around the UK including one on Queen Street in Edinburgh (in the New Town): https://smws.com/venues/28-queen-street-edinburgh
This will be a bit less touristy than the one on the Royal Mile.
I would highly recommend The Scotch Whisky Experience that's on the Royal Mile near the castle. It has a little ride that shows you how whisky is made, then a tasting, a visit to their collection, and empties into a nice gift shop. I've been on a ton of distillery / brewery tours, and it was one of my favorites.
Thank you to everyone for the suggestions/advice!
https://www.scotchwhiskyexperience.co.uk/tour/taste-of-scotland/ I did the taste of Scotland tour to celebrate my retirement a few years ago , was there with my bother and sisters as well as their spouses, wonderful experience with fantastic food. It is not cheap but for me a great way to celebrate the ending of my working life and the start of my new life of retirement.
