We are a family of 4 visiting Scotland this summer.
We are wondering if the Scottish Heritage Pass would be a good idea. We plan to visit Edinburgh Castle, Urquhart Castle, Eilean Donan Castle, Cullodean Battlefield, Stirling Castle.
The areas we will be visiting are; Edinburgh, Inverness, Isle of Skye and Oban and then back to Edinburgh. We love history and off the beaten path sites.
TIA!
This past September, I bought a 5-day Scotland Explorer Pass at Stirling Castle and also used it to enter Edinburgh Castle. Although the price would have been the same if I had not bought the Pass to enter both castles, the Pass allowed expedited entry, so it was worth it. However, it is good for a lot more sites, and you can buy either a 5-d or a 14-d pass. It might be cheaper than the Heritage Pass, but you will have to do the research to see if all of the sites you want to visit are covered.
I'm in the same situation, though a bit further out than this summer. I'd be very interested to hear opinions on this too as those are also locations on our to-visit list.
