ScotRail Temporary Timetable with a reservation

Does anyone have experience with ScotRail travel disruptions? I have already purchased roundtrip day tickets on May 31 from Edinburg to/from Leuchars to visit St Andrews. Both train times now show not operating. I'm not so concerned for the return, as I booked an anytime ticket. However, the outbound is an advance single ("only valid for the date, time and trains specified").

The comment on the temporary timetable states "If your planned trip is affected by these timetable changes, you can use your ticket to travel on an alternative service that day, or the day before or after your planned journey." Are we just supposed to show up for another train and fight to get on? This is very different than airline cancellations, so I'm not sure what to do! Thanks!

Not sure what the question is.
You have already stated the answer. Get on an alternative train

You use you ticket to travel on another train. And yes, you will have to fight to get on if there are a lot of people waiting at the station, Watch the train as it comes into the station and see how busy each of the coaches is. Often the end coaches are less full than the middle ones. However, you don't have a lot of time to get on. You may be lucky and manage to find a seat. If not, I'm afraid you will have to stand.

I'm transferring next week in Edinburgh from TPE to Scotrail. My Scotrail train now leaves 30 minutes earlier than planned but arrives at the same time.

It shouldn't be problem as I still have about 20 minutes but we are talking about TPE. I guess I should be glad if I actually arrive the same day as booked. The last time I booked this, TPE canceled my train two minutes prior to departure. I arrived four hours late. (And yes, I got a refund.)

I got the same email but fortunately had booked on a train not affected. In the email confirmation I received, there looks to be a link for Help. And here is a WhatsApp # I found on their website to contact them. 07555 012345

In these situations, contact ScotRail. That should be your first place.

The language of the statement is yes, it is transfereable to a different train but check. Tickets are usually tranferrable if the reason for transfer is due to the service, a timetable alteration, industrial action, alien invasion, but not due to the traveller.

But check with ScotRail first.
