Going to St. Andrews in May for six nights. Have looked at hotels and B&Bs and it just occurred to me that I have not looked for lodging on VRBO/Homeaway or Airbnb. Wanted to ask if any one has used these services there (I have elsewhere) and if you could recommend something near city center. I recall street parking was a premium when I was there before and stayed in a B&B, so parking at where we stay is preferred. Also possibly good hotels with parking that don’t break the bank. Thank you.

Suggestion: you may get more responses if you change the name of your thread to St. Andrews Lodging. "Scotland Lodging" is a vast topic.
Apart from that, it seems you are looking for the best of all worlds -- affordable lodging in central St. Andrews that has free parking. Not sure this exists, but I'll leave it to others. The place we stayed was beautiful and has free parking, but it is several miles outside of town in the direction of Anstruther.
Any idea how I can change the name of the post to St. Andrews Lodging? Or do I have to repost it? Thanks.
