Scotland in 6 Days & Rabbie’s Tour

Hi there!

My husband and I are looking to book a last minute trip to Scotland for 6 full days/6 nights (arrive early and depart early) in late May. We’re planning on doing a multi-city flight into Edinburgh and out of Inverness. We’d prefer not to drive at all, if possible. We’ve got two questions for you lovely people —

1) Does this itinerary seem too ambitious or busy?
Day 1 - arrive / Edinburgh
Day 2- Edinburgh
Day 3 - leave early in the morning to Isle of Skye
Day 4 - Isle of Skye
Day 5 - work our way from Isle of Skye to Inverness
Day 6 - Inverness
Day 7 - depart

2) We’re looking at Rabbie’s tours for Isle of Skye, specifically the Taste of Skye: Wild Landscapes & Local Flavours tour. Do you know if we can “hop off” in Inverness on day three? How does the stay at the Hame Hotel compare to booking our own accommodations in Portree? Any other thoughts or insights?

Thank you all for your help in advance!

I can’t answer your question about leaving the tour in Inverness. You would need to ask Rabbies. But I know the Hame hotel. If you want a tranquil setting it’s ideal. But you’d be stuck with eating at the hotel as there are no other options within walking distance. Without a car Portree would give you more choice of dining spots of an evening.
