Scotland Airport Strikes

Workers at some of Scotlands smaller airports will strike on Dec. 19 and 22. This will not affect Edinburgh or Glasgow airport operations but may affect flights to the airports where strikes are taking place.

Those airports include Barra, Benbecula, Campbeltown, Dundee, Inverness, Islay, Kirkwall, Stornoway, Sumburgh, Tiree and Wick.

Loganair, the airline that flies to those airports, has put out a press release saying which flights will and will not be cancelled.

It worked out well in the end. The armed forces were drafted in and actually improved the service. I landed at Heathrow on the 23rd and the queues were almost non existent. Every booth was manned by a soldier from the army accompanied by a non striking Border Force agent and they were working as expeditiously as possible (and done with a smile). If Border Force wish to strike again then I suspect the country will be right behind them but not for the reasons they hope.
