Hi,
We are planning to go to the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo while in Scotland this August. Any suggestions for what seat location we should purchase? Are the shows with fireworks better?

the best area is the east stand as you have the castle as a backdrop, but all the seating gives a good view of the show.The Firework shows are on the later shows on a Wednesday and Saturday (I Think),only a few minutes worth so if these days don't suit your plans don't worry. There are a few firework go of at the end of every performance but the early ones it is still light so you don't really see them

Thank you for your suggestions uncle gus I was able to get tickets for the late show on a Saturday! Took a little time to find 4 seats together! Tickets go fast!

yes they do go fast and often bought up by tour companies,it has been over 10 years since I was at the tattoo but as a child I went every year, my father worked for the local council and we got free tickets for the dress rehearsals evey year, always loved it , the sight and sound of the mass pipes and drums always sets my heart a flutter.
I hope you enjoy it and wrap up warm the castle is quite exposed and a cold wind can blow at ant time of the year,the performances go ahead despite the weather and you can't use umberellas.
