First time heading to Scotland this summer (late June/early July) and we have 2 weeks to work with. The guide has a pretty clear loop that he says is kinda the 'best of' and it looks quite manageable. I've talked to some folks that have been and they think its aggressive for two weeks. I'm absolutely a FOMO person, and always try to cram in too much.
Plan to rent a car for the whole deal. At the moment, the flights to Inverness are the cheapest, but could really fly into any of the 3 mains. Could fly in and out of a different one as well, but that might make the car more expensive.
Anyway, has anyone done the trip in 2 weeks? General thoughts? It has all the places I KNOW I want to see, but I have a feeling when I get there I'll sure want to see more. Most interested in the sights and countryside, castles, architecture, history, hiking/walking, views etc... We tend to skip museums, not our thing. Cities are fine, I just don't need much time in them usually.
Would love to hear recommendations for a first time! I'm trying to plan as if I'll go back, but that is hard for me. I usually plan like I'll never be there again.
