I’m currently Staying in a single room at the Argyll guest house in Glasgow. I would not recommend this place to other Rick Steve’s travelers. The bed is old and has zero support and sags in the middle, sheets are stiff and scratchy and the single room is tiny. No air whatsoever, very stuffy and mine was lower level. No toiletries whatsoever (just fyi) or even a wash cloth. Bathroom was fine but small. I would not stay here again, I’d find an Airbnb at similar price. The man who checked me in was very helpful and if the bed was good I’d be ok with the place for no more than 2 nights. Location is good as well. I know it’s a budget place but I’m just saying that I’d avoid the single rooms at all costs.

It is rare in Europe to find face cloths or wash cloths provided. It is a cultural thing.

Sure but the main reason not to book a single room is the terrible bed, downstairs room, and no air circulation. Have no idea about the doubles or larger rooms. Maybe they have better mattresses?
