Our family of four will be driving back to Edinburgh from the Isle of Skye and will be staying one night in a hotel near the airport (prior to early morning departure). Does anyone have any restaurant recommendations for dinner near the airport? We'll still have our rental car but don't want to venture too far away from the airport. Nothing too pricey. Thanks in advance!
The airport is kind of on its own. The hotel may have a restaurant. You could drive to South Queensferry down by the bridges and then you can go to Hawes Inn, Orocco Pier or even just get fish and chips. There are lots of choices. It’s on the water and there is a small beach. The Forth rail bridge is my husband’s favorite spot. When we drive from Skye we sometimes stop in Pitlochry for a meal. If you have a larger lunch you could stop at a grocery shop and grab supper for in the room. Sometimes we eat at the cafe in Morrisons grocery. It’s not bad.
A google search--Edinburgh Airport restaurants nearby using maps brings up a few on the east side of the airport. Which hotel are you staying in?
We're at the Doubletree across the street from the airport. After driving in from the Isle of Skye, returning the rental car, and getting our COVID tests done at the airport, we're wiped out. The Doubletree's in-house restaurant doesn't look so bad, so we've decided to eat here. Thanks for the input!
