I will be staying in Edinburgh and am considering attending the Braemar Gathering (Highland Games) on 2 September 2017. For those who have actually attended The Gathering and used a private tour operator or private driver to get there from Edinburgh, can you please provide a recommendation? Thanks very much.

I used Grayline tours, they took a couple of busloads of people from downtown, and I think they had a third bus for some overload and last minute passengers. No complaints, but they do just drive you there and back for the day. You pay your own admission when you get there, and if you want to sit in the bleachers that is extra. I recall catching the bus right down town, but I think they will pick up at some hotels.
