Recommendation for a Glasgow Hotel/B&B

Greetings All,

We'll be traveling to Scotland in May, flying into Glasgow, looking to stay for 3 nights and then on to Aberdeen. I was in Glasgow in 2009 and stayed at the Millennium Hotel (next to Queens RR Station) and the Kelvingrove Hotel on Sauchiehall Street (on the West Side) with a break in the Highlands inbetween. My memory is that both were OK. Trying to decide where to stay this time - City Center or West Side. I'd prefer to be within walking distance (with a suitcase on wheels) of the train station, but a taxi is OK. Can you recommend any hotel/B&Bs? Thanks!

Sorry for the duplication. I forgot I had seen Jen's question and the replies re Premier Inn and Merchant City. Any other thoughts? I'll watch her question for more replies, too. Thanks!

I don't have a specific place, but I stayed out in the west end on one trip and enjoyed it. It was easy to get to the Botanic Gardens, Kelvingrove, the University, and great music and food. You take the subway into city centre. There are lots of B&B's.

At times, University or College dorm rooms can be rented in the summer fairly cheaply. Look at: http://glasgow.victoriahall.com/summer-stays/

This is one. There are several. Do a google search for renting college dorm rooms in the summer in glasgow

We use one several years ago and it was ok. Nothing fancy but worked for us.
