Hi, I know I've been on here a lot but I need the info sorry
1. What is the best way from the airport to Ibis Endinburgh 77 south bridge.
2. How Far is the Kelpies from Edinburgh?
3. How do we get there from Edinburgh ?
teani,
(1.) Have a look at the airport website.....

That should get you to at least Waverley station, where you can take a Taxi or walk to your hotel (I didn't check the location of your hotel)
(2 & 3). This may be the what you're looking for.....

There's a tab for "How To Get Here".
If there are several persons in your party, you may just want to take a taxi from Edinburgh airport to your Inn. Also, you may be exhausted from jet-lag when you arrive - another good reason to splurge on a taxi. Just write down the address of your Inn on an index card to hand the cabbie. Then, relax and begin your Scotland adventure. Feel free to visit the forum often with lots of questions - that's why we are here.
The bus from Edinburgh airport to Waverley is astoundingly easy to use. Once at Waverley, you can walk, take a bus or catch a cab to your hotel. But I think I would catch a cab or walk. It's not very far and by the time you walk to the bus stop....There would be a bit of up hill to get to South Bridge.
you also could take the tram from the airport to the Prince Street stop and then walk the 1/4 of a mile to the hotel. Tram is pretty nice and the staff is very helpful. The fare would be about 5 pounds ($7) one way. A cab ride would be close to 25 pounds I would guess. I have not used the bus but everyone says the bus from the airport is easy and cheap and will take to you north bridge.
you can take the 35 bus from the airport to right outside the Hotel, cost £1.50 per person( exact fare only no change given), there are luggage racks on the bus but it takes a torturous route through the more industrial parts of the city.

happy to be here, did not find out about this forum untill yesterday.I am pretty active on the Trip advisor forums as well as doing a bit on Frommers and Thorntree.I will concentrate or trying to help on questions on Edinburgh but can only look at it from a locals perspective but hopefully that is of help to visitors to this great city.
i also will be helping out on the czech republic forum as i visit the country 2 or 3 times a year and have been doing so for over 20 years.
Following on from Pam's comments, a welcome from Glasgow. Hopefully between the three of us we've got Scotland covered reasonably well.
thanks for that .I do get through to Glasgow now and then . last time was in late January and had a meal at the Corinthian Club with some of my friends from Trip Advisor.
