The Royal Edinburgh Ticket looks like a good deal, but the website states that time slots for Edinburgh Castle will be offered once we pick up our tickets at St. Andrews Square.
From what I've read, it's recommended to buy tickets and reserve a time slot weeks in advance of visiting the Castle. For reference, we're arriving in Edinburgh on Fri, May 10 and hoped to visit the castle the next day so we could take advantage of the Saturday markets near the castle.
Curious to hear from folks on the forum who've used the Royal Edinburgh Ticket. Have you experienced issues with getting a time slot to visit the castle? Did you find the ticket a good value? Any reasons to not purchase it?
