I'm getting ready to book the ferry from Lerwick to Kirkwall next year and I've checked to make sure that it runs that day, which it does, but it's about a 5 1/2 hour ferry ride. Of course, NorthLink offers a cabin or the reclining chairs and so on. I know I don't need a cabin, but I'm assuming that they just have regular chairs you can sit in without having to pay for them. Is that correct?
Also, if I decide to purchase access to the Magnus Lounge, can I do it on the day I leave or closer to the time I'm leaving? I don't really want to request it now but may change my mind.
And last question, if I purchase dinner on board, do they serve it in the Magnus Lounge or someplace else? I guess I'm wondering if I need to purchase access to have dinner. I'm a little confused by that. Any help you can give me would be great. Thanks!
