Question about layover time for flight

Good afternoon all. Looking at flights to Scotland in September and I have a question about layover times in Frankfurt. The flight that I'm considering goes from TPA (Tampa FL) to FRA (Frankfurt) then on to EDI (Edinburgh). The layover time in Frankfurt is 2 hours.

Do you think this is enough time for the layover? If our baggage has been checked, will it transfer straight through or will we need to retrieve it and then re-check? The flight is with Lufthansa.

Thank you in advance for any insight!

Are your flights all on one ticket, same code? If so, you should have plenty of time and your bags should meet you at your final destination. If your flight is delayed and you cannot make your connection, then the airline should arrange for another connecting flight.

I prefer 3 hours in case the flight departs late from Tampa or a change of terminals is required.

Someone more familiar with Frankfurt will know better, but depending on how you’re ticketed you could end up having to go through immigration in Frankfurt.
