Is pub music common in Scotland?
We loved all the music in Ireland and I would love to experience that in Scotland as well. I'm wondering if that is likely?

I can't speak for anywhere else in the country, but this hotel in Aberdeenshire was always a good place for weekly live music in the pre-Covid world

In Edinburgh there are plenty of pubs with trad Scottish music, sometimes known as a Session.
Sandy Bell's bar comes to mind.
However, I don't know what it's like now, during a pandemic; so perhaps someone on here from Edinburgh might know?
Thank you! Good to know!
We will be traveling next August so who knows about the pandemic at that point.
Covid restrictions in Scotland are more restrictive than in England.
At present, face mask wearing is compulsory in indoor venues in Scotland, including pubs. Live music is permitted as background music only and the musicians must also wear masks. Audience singing along isn’t permitted.
No one knows what the situation will be next year.
Thank you for the feedback.
It's a bit discouraging to hear of the restrictions, however understandable.
I can’t answer your question, but on Saturday I want to hear about your plans. We will be in Scotland in September.
Hi Andrea,
We sure need help with this trip!
Honestly, we go from thoughts of Scotland, or Ireland or fly into MUC and out of Frankfurt with a loop from Germany/Austrian alps to Switzerland into France and back to Frankfurt. We have done all of these countries but we would find new stops. We start to book it and then keep exploring other options, so who knows really where we will go! We have concerns about heat in August for the latter idea as well as now restrictions that Scotland may be very strict with Covid regulations/mask wearing etc., but then again we are a long way off so anything can happen with Covid by then.
