Potential Strike Action on Scotrail and Edinburgh Trams

For information-

Three Trade Unions for workers on Scotrail are now balloting for Industrial action. If those ballots provide a mandate there is the potential for strikes from September. Updates, if any, to follow.

Separately workers on Edinburgh Trams are also balloting for Industrial action in a dispute over a lack of time for toilet breaks. This has become an issue since the extension to Leith/Newhaven, with the lack of traffic priority measures on the extension resulting in timetable unreliability so very tight turn-rounds at either end as control try to recover from late running.
Updates to follow in due course.

Edinburgh Tram drivers have now balloted 91% in favour of strike action. No dates have yet been announced, but unless this is resolved strike action can be expected sometime in September. Keep an eye on their website for details.

Scotrail and Caledonian Sleeper also have potential strike action pending after successful ballots. Talks are underway to resolve both disputes.
