We will be staying in Portree and need to get to the ferry in Mallaig on 8 June Monday.
Stagecoach has busses that do that route but having difficult getting a timetable later than mid-May. I've ready posts that state you can't rely on this bus because it is meant for schoolkids and not tourists.
Anyone with knowledge of the bus timetables or alternative transportation would be helpful.

Clearly it is intended for anyone's use, from the timings.
We don't know the planned start date for the 2026 Summer timetable yet, as it does not appear that Stagecoach have yet applied to the Traffic Commissioner's for the summer variation timetable (or, if they have, it isn't showing up)- which should be in by now.
But even on the winter timetable the 0905 from Portree is after the schools are in session, so that is a general public service.
The slight worry around the Highlands is that the Scottish Government £2 maximum fare may have unintended consequences, such as not running extra summer only journeys (being around 25% of the normal fare on this route).
