Places to stay and eat in Lerwick, Shetland Islands

I was there 10 years ago. Love to go back. I am jealous. There is a site on Facebook promote Shetland I think. We rented a self catering house on west Burra but think it is no longer rentable. Google self catering cottages for Shetland. We were there for about 10 days or so. Made our own breakfasts, had picnics, usually went out for dinners, did our laundry. Think there is a tesco in lerwick. Again, unfortunately the best restaurant was monty’s bistro is closed. We ate at an Indian restaurant that was delicious and down the street was a fun pub with music called the Douglas arms. Chinese restaurant there was not that good. Restaurant at sumburgh hotel was good. There is cafe on the way to Echness sp? Gorgeous cliffs , brae caravan ( or something like that) was the name I think. Had the best tomato homemade soup. Cafe at st ninnians sp? Was good. Go there and walk across the tombollo. My ancestors came from there. My 2nd great grandfather Inkster came here to the states. We met our 5th cousins that live in scalloway and at Houss.

I would love to go back. Maybe in 2021 with my scotland Hebrides tour we are taking.

It's not a guest house or B&B, but we have stopped at Corbie, which is a self catering property in Lerwick and has a minimum of two night bookings in August. It is in easy walking distance of shops. There is on street parking. (We have also stopped at the Decca, but this is on the hill overlooking the town so not so convenient as you would have to drive down to eat at night. )
