We need to get to Stratford upon Avon from Pitlochry in early November. There seem to be many options on how to get there but am looking for the most efficient. There is no direct train (as expected). It seems we have to go to London, arriving at one station, and then travel to another station to get to Stratford. Also considering an overnight train, but unsure of additional cost.

Pitlochry to Edinburgh Waverley, the Avanti train at 52 minutes past the even hours to Birmingham New Street, walk about 300 yards down the street to Birmingham Moor Street, twice an hour to Stratford.
Overnight you would go Pitlochry to Crewe (arrive around 5.30am), Crewe to Birmingham New Street, Moor Street to Stratford.
You would ticket this as Pitlochry to Edinburgh, Edinburgh to Stratford, both on Advance train specific tickets.
On the Sleeper ticket it as Pitlochry to Crewe, Crewe to Birmingham, Birmingham to Stratford.
Tickets open 12 weeks before travel so you are too early yet).
A good train would be the 0818 from Pitlochry, Edinburgh 1014, depart 1052, or 1026 EDI 1214/1252.
