heh all, I’m staying in the Blairgowerie area for a week...I’ve been to the area several times and love it (obviously)..I am going to revisit some favorite places like Dunkeld. And, I will probably scoot over to St. Andrews and the coast one day. If you know of any special “off the beaten” track places, please share......I am an artist and will be painting....thanks in advance, Jenny
Since you already know the area, I don't know of any secret locations, but this might be of interest https://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/blairgowrie/blairgowrie/index.html
Of course there is Glamis Castle, as well as the road north toward Braemar and Crathie.
Outside of St Andrews, we stayed at the Old Station Guest House, which is a few miles outside of town along the coastal road toward Anstruther. You might enjoy painting the scenery out there -- it has a wide open feel to it.
Blairgowrie is not that far from Braemar where you will find the Linn of Quoich which I have always considered to be off the beaten track and worth painting too.

That's one of my favorite places too! I assume that you have been over to Aberfeldy. There's the lovely Birks of Aberfeldy walk which is delightful. Also, one of my favorite drives is to drive over the mountain from Aberfeldy to Kinloch Rannoch. You can drive all the way out to the Rannoch Moor railway station and have a nice lunch. :) And you can drive back via Queens View and the A9.
