Perth

For a day trip, best things to see? Like historical sites, museums, distilleries, nice walks/scenery.
Good place for lunch?

Hi, Alexandra,

There's not much to see in Perth, other than visiting the Black Watch Museum. Huntingtower Castle, and climbing up Kinnoull Hill for spectacular views along the valley of the Tay. There's a decent walk along the Tay within the city limits, but the downtown shopping area is pretty depressing. Even the locals say so!

That said, the best meat (Scotch) pies you'll ever eat can be found at Murray's on South Street. Scone Palace is not too far away.

Hope that helps!

We were in Perth in August, 2017. We'd gone there for a little down time in a long trip, as well as to attend the Highland Games, which were cancelled. We drove up to Cairngorms National Park and Braemar. The heather was in gloom and it was glorious.
